Dana is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and holds a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. With a warm and creative approach, Dana uses play therapy, expressive therapies, and attachment-based methods to support children and their families.
Dana has extensive background working in clinical settings with children and makes it a priority to consult with parents to support the family as a whole. She uses a combination of Synergetic play therapy, Sandtray therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her strength-based approach focuses on building skills, empowerment, and creativity to help kids cope with challenges.
Dana also uses an attachment-based approach to connect with young clients. Dana is trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to work closely with families to address behavioral concerns and introduce positive parenting techniques. Collaborating with families this way leads to a deeper understanding of their child’s needs and provides skills for caregivers in this process.
Dana’s clinical skills extend beyond working with young children to supporting youth up to 16 years of age. Dana draws from both practical, cognitive therapies like ACT and CBT as well as somatic tools to support young adults.
