Hayley Newell, RTC

Registered Therapeutic Counselor

Hayley is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Play Therapist. She works with children and their families, as well as youth and adults. Hayley has been a counsellor in private practice for 10 years and brings diverse experience in early childhood education to her therapeutic role.

Her practice is informed by somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Synergetic Play Therapy. Key themes across these approaches are attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and nervous system regulation. Hayley is a passionate educator and loves teaching parents about play, boundaries, supporting big feelings and more.

Hayley’s approach is warm, intuitive and practical. She has experience working with children on challenges at school including, bullying, social isolation, identity, and learning issues, as well as trauma (past or current), difficult life transitions like a divorce or death in the family, aggression, neurodivergence, anxiety, and depression.

Together, with attention and compassion, as well as effective tools, we explore what feels challenging, and create space for change.
